Anthony "John" Sidoti MP, an Australian politician, is a member of the New South Wales Legislative Assembly representing Drummoyne since 2011.[1]

The son of Italian migrants, Sidoti was raised in Sydney's inner west and educated at De La Salle College, Ashfield and the Ryde College of TAFE where he studied hospitality.[1] From 1992 to 2008, Sidoti ran a function centre in Five Dock together with his family,[2] and then was a part-time fruit merchant.[1]
Elected as an Councillor to Burwood Council in 2008, Sidoti served as Mayor from 2009 up until the 2011 state election, when he stood down as mayor, remaining as a Councillor.[2]
At the 2011 state election, Sidoti was elected with a swing of 19.4 per cent and won the seat with 66.7 per cent of the vote on a two party preferred basis.[3] In December 2010 the sitting member, Angela D'Amore, was disendorsed by Labor after an adverse finding against D'Amore by the Independent Commission Against Corruption. Following her disendrosement, D'Amore remained in Parliament, sitting as an independent politician[4][5] up unitl the 2011 election, when she chose not to seek re-election.[3] Sidoti's main opponent was mayor of the City of Canada Bay, Angelo Tsirekas, representing Labor.
Sidoti chairs the Parliamentary Privileges and Ethics Comitee, the Catering Comitee and serving as Vice-Chair of the Social Policy Comittee..
